Some web designers, specially those who are just starting,
often
neglects creating web page designs that targets the majority.
Currently, majority of the internet users use 1024 x 768 resolution.
But, 34% of them are still on 800 x 600 resolution. So,
this make good sense to make web page designs for 800 x 600 monitor
resolutions.
I just found a website that will serve as guide in designing your web
templates. If you are designing for 800 x 600, 760 is actually
the safer width to avoid unwanted horizontal scroll bars. The browser
grid will guide you designing for major resolutions. [External Link]
